The future of MEC seminars & conferences  ... the best in America's heartland ... is golden as 'the baton' has been passed to a new generation.

August 1, 2024

Established in 1990, the MEC (Manufacturers' Education Council) has provided over 90,000 executives, directors, managers and business professionals with the best education on leading-edge issues.   MEC conferences have educated the world's most-admired manufacturers located in America's heartland ... manufacturers such as The Procter & Gamble Co., Marathon Petroleum Corp, General Electric Company, TimkenSteel, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Co., The J.M. Smucker Company, General Motors Company, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Avery Dennison Corporation,  Owens Corning, The Sherwin-Williams Company, Ford Motor Company, Eli Lilly and Company, and Honda Development & Manufacturing of America.    MEC events have also served some of the America’s best organizations including American Electric Power, The Kroger Company, EY, Nationwide Insurance, Ryan, The Ohio State University, The Anderson's, NiSource, Amazon, Miami University, Battelle, White Castle, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Wendy's Co., and PwC.

With the retirement of MEC’s officers, Mark W. Uher (Chairperson) and Jana R. Lilly (Secretary-Treasurer), the MEC sold its conference assets to outstanding organizations to ‘pass the baton of conference excellence’ to a new generation.

The Ohio Chamber of Commerce, one of the nation’s premier trade associations, purchased both MEC’s business tax events (including the 34th Annual Ohio Business Tax Conference on August 6-7, 2024 in Columbus) and energy management conferences including the 29th Annual Ohio Energy Savings and Management Conference, held annually in February in Columbus.

With a coalition of premier organizations including the Air & Waste Management Association – East Central Section and Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, Quorm Events LLC purchased MEC’s sustainability, environmental management, and EHS conferences including the 34th Annual Sustainability & EHS Symposium (April 22-23, 2025 in Cincinnati); 2024 Annual Ohio Workforce Safety Conference (October 16, 2024 in Columbus) and the 34th Annual Environmental Permitting in Ohio Conference held annually in July in Columbus.

Pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code (1701.87), Manufacturers’ Education Council, Inc., an Ohio corporation, will therefore be dissolved on or about October 1, 2024.
